MANILA, Philippines – Boxing coach Freddie Roach still regards his prized pupil Manny Pacquiao among the best despite seeing him go down against Juan Manuel Marquez.

Roach, who has been training Pacquiao since he was a super bantamweight, said the Filipino’s record eight world title wins will be very hard to break.

“Manny Pacquiao is my best work. He's won eight titles,” the trainer told retired heavyweight boxer Chris Byrd in an interview.

Roach added that the Filipino boxer’s legacy remains intact despite two successive losses last year.

“I don't think anyone would duplicate it (eight division title wins), at least in my lifetime,” he said.

Pacquiao's title wins include WBC and Lineal flyweight, IBF super bantamweight, WBC super featherweight, WBC lightweight, IBO junior welterweight, WBO welterweight and the WBC super welterweight crowns.

What makes Pacquiao a favorite among his stable of fighters is the Filipino boxer’s loyalty, Roach said.

“He's one of the best guys in the world, he's so loyal, he's a great guy to train,” he said.
