Denver's Tebow breaks Twitter record
MANILA, Philippines -- Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow broke a Twitter record after he led his team to an upset victory against the Pittburgh Steelers in overtime last Monday.
There were so many tweets that the quarterback's name set a new record for most sports-related tweets per second with 9,420.
The game-winning moment surpassed the onstage confirmation of Beyonce's pregnancy during MTV's Video Music Awards last August, but fell short of besting the online buzz sparked by Japanese anime movie "Castle in the Sky" in December.
Tebow also reportedly earned a $250,000 bonus for guiding the Broncos to the playoff win. If he leads Denver past the top-seeded New England Patriots in the next round, he stands to earn another $250,000 bonus. -- Report from ANC
