MANILA, Philippines – The manager of Russian fighter Ruslan Provodnikov is not giving up hope on a potential match-up between the “Siberian Rocky” and Filipino champ Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao.

This, even after a report came out that the “Pacman” has allegedly chosen to fight unbeaten American Timothy Bradley Jr. for his April 2014 fight.

“I think there is a good chance that the fight will happen sooner or later,” Provodnikov’s manager, Vadim Kornilov, told

“It seems like the promoters, the TV, and the fans are interested in this fight,” he added.

Provodnikov initially did not want to fight Pacquiao, who is his good friend and sparring partner, but has recently changed his mind.

“I like the fight itself,” Kornilov said. “I do not like that we have to go into this fight without Freddie Roach.”

Roach, who works with both fighters, will most likely side with Pacquiao should the Filipino ever face off against Provodnikov.

“I have said before that I don’t want to take any fight without Freddie being in the corner,” Kornilov admitted.
