MANILA, Philippines – The Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters are looking to keep in step with the league-leaders when they play the woeful Air21 Express in the PBA Philippine Cup Wednesday afternoon at the Araneta Coliseum.
TNT defeated Air21, 87-82, when they first met this conference, but Texters head coach Norman Black told PBA.ph that they are not underestimating the Express despite their 2-9 win-loss record.
“It’s a game where we have to play tough and maintain our focus,” Black said. “Air21 is a much better team than their record indicates. We must do a good job on the boards to win the game.”
Talk ‘N Text had needed clutch baskets from a variety of players to pull out the victory against Air21 when they played last December 22.
“We need to be better down the stretch and to slow down Talk ‘N Text,” said Air21 coach Franz Pumaren, whose wards are still trying to keep their slim playoff hopes alive.
Game time is at 5:45 p.m.
