MANILA, Philippines – Unbeaten American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. has nicknamed Manny Pacquiao’s adviser, Michael Koncz, “con artist,” saying the Filipino’s career would have been better if he had a different manager.

“Michael Kon… What’s his name? Michael Con-Artist?” Mayweather said in a wide-ranging interview with Fight Hype. “Michael Con-Artist wouldn’t be my manager if I was in the boxing game.”

Koncz is Pacquiao’s long-time advisor who has recently come under fire after it was revealed that the Filipino boxer was having issues regarding his taxes both in the Philippines and in the United States.

Mayweather said Pacquiao had a chance to affiliate himself with another manager who could have taken his career in a different direction, but chose not to.

“What’s so crazy is a long time ago, Pacquiao should have got with Al Haymon and we would have got his career together,” Mayweather said.

Haymon represents Mayweather, among other fighters, and is known as one of the most powerful men in boxing.

Mayweather has continued to disparage Pacquiao in his interviews with Fight Hype, this time asserting that the Filipino boxer only wants to fight him in order to take care of his financial problems.
