MANILA – Rain or Shine's Paul Lee has found a way to limit high-scoring Terrence Romeo of GlobalPort, which bowed to the Elasto Painters in their recent PBA encounter.

Lee said Romeo can't handle trash talk as shown by their match-up last Sunday.

From an average of 14.55 points per game, the Rain or Shine point guard managed to hold Romeo to 10 points on 17 attempts.

“Oo, talagang inasar ko siya sa laro. Alam ko naman kakahayan ni Terrence. Baka kung hindi ko ginawa yun, baka pumutok pa,” Lee said in an interview with’s Snow Badua.

Lee said that although Romeo is an outstanding scorer, the former Far Easter University (FEU) standout is susceptible to trash talking.

“Magaling na bata si Terrence. Malakas. Matapang. Pero mahina pa siya rito,” said Lee, referring to Romeo being psyched out.

Romeo had to step up in that game due to the absence of fellow point guard Sol Mercado. But his efforts were in vain as the Batang Pier got beat, 87-98.

Romeo himself is no stranger to mind games, employing such tactics during his UAAP days.

During an FEU game against De La Salle, he wiped his sweat on Jeron Teng’s hand in an effort to ruin the Archer’s game.

It was, however, different against the Elasto Painters as he ended up being bullied by the more experienced Lee.

“Na-frustrate din kasi ako. Wala tayong magagawa dun. Kasama sa basketball 'yun,” said Romeo. “Hindi ako nasanay na binu-bully kaya nanibago lang ako.”
