MANILA, Philippines - Action in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup resumes today with Hog’s Breath Café out to arrest a two-game skid dating back to last year with a victory against unpredictable Boracay Rum at the Arellano gym in Legarda.
The Razorbacks, who showed up the fancied teams in the early going of the tournament, are hard-pressed to regain lost ground as they face the Waves at 4 p.m., looking for a victory that would keep them in the hunt for an outright semifinal berth.
National U-Banco de Oro and Arellano University collide in a duel of struggling teams at 2 p.m.
After opening the season with a sweep of its first seven games, Hog’s Breath Café ended 2013 on a sour note with back-to-back defeats, to Jumbo Plastic (8-2) and Café France (7-3), that knocked the Razorbacks from the top spot.
The Waves, on the other hand, will be coming into the game inspired by their 71-63 victory against the Arellano Chiefs last Dec. 5 followed by an 83-66 rout of Zambales M-Builders on Dec. 19 before the league took a holiday break.
But with a 4-5 record, Boracay Rum needs to pile up victories to remain in the hunt for the quarterfinals.
