On a night that saw the Los Angeles Lakers hit a season-high 17 three-pointers, it seemed that their shooting touch rubbed off on their fans.
Jerald Acoba, a 30-year-old of Filipino descent who is now based in Tulare, California, hit a half-court shot during a break in action to earn a cool $95,000, or over P4.7 million.
Asked what he will do with the cash, Acoba said: "I'm gonna buy my mom a car."
Acoba immediately did the "ice in his veins" celebration popularized by Lakers guard D'Angelo Russell after making the shot, and earned high-fives from the LA players.
The Lakers beat the Memphis Grizzlies, 116-102, to snap a three-game losing streak.
