Recharged TNT faces Alaska
MANILA, Philippines – The Meralco Bolts will be facing the Air21 Express with newly signed Danny Ildefonso in tow when the PBA Philippine Cup resumes Saturday.
The Bolts has decided to sign the two-time MVP for the rest of the conference as they could no longer wait for the return of injured player Kerby Raymundo.
“His presence will give us more ceiling and maturity,” said Meralco coach Ryan Gregorio in the PBA website.
Ildefonso became a free agent after being left unsigned by Petron Blaze at the end of the 2013 PBA Governors’ Cup.
The Bolts are tied with the San Mig Coffee Mixers at 8th with a 3-7 card.
“Done with 2013. We want to start on a high note to usher in 2014. New Year, new hope and hopefully new ending,” he added.
Meralco will clash against Air21 at the 5:45 p.m. game.
Opening the game day will be the hardcourt clash between defending champion Talk ‘N Text and Alaska.
The Tropang Texters are out to rebound from their sorry 91-105 loss to Petron Blaze last week, after squandering a 15-point advantage to the Boosters.
Talk 'N Text veteran Jimmy Alapag hopes that holiday break was enough for his team to recharge their batteries for their match against the Aces.
“We have some work ahead. We welcome the break. We’ll get back and be ready,” he said.
Game time will be at 3:30 p.m.
