MANILA, Philippines – Middleweight champion Anderson Silva will be signing a 10-fight contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) with a few options spicing the deal.
The options, according to UFC president Dana White, are possible super fights against welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and light heavyweight champion Jon Jones.
But Silva will have to defend his title against middleweight contenders first before getting the super fights, White said.
“There's probably three fights out there for him at 185, then Georges [St-Pierre] will have a few more fights under his belt cause the guy's been out such a long time. Cause before he blew his knee out, he was ready to roll,” White said in Yahoo! Sports.
Regarding Silva versus Jones, White said that megafight will likely happen after about three bouts.
“It makes sense if you think about it. It would be almost a year and a half,” he said.
