Cagampang-De Castro, 67, passed the Bar in 1969 with a grade of 85.52%.
She took up English and History at the Holy Ghost College and graduated magna cum laude. She later took Law at UP, where she graduated cum laude and class valedictorian.
She took her Masters of Law at the Harvard Law School and University of Michigan. She also took her doctorate at the University of Michigan.
She became executive director and undersecretary of the Minerals Development Council in 2006.
Her expertise on the mining industry is attested by several published articles, including a study on the Diwalwal Gold Mines and the state’s policies over its natural resources.
Cagampang-De Castro is the mother of former Assistant Justice Secretary Jose Arturo de Castro.
