This 59-year-old Cagayan de Oro (CDO) 2nd District Representative is a member of the Estrada-led Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino. He became CDO representative beginning 2007.
He boasts of having a perfect attendance in the 14th Congress. He also ranked second among 268 lawmakers for most number of bills and resolutions. He filed 554, 53 of which became laws, including amendments to the Expanded Breastfeeding Promotion Act of 2009.
Prior to his election as CDO representative, Rodriguez was Bureau of Immigration chief (1998-2001) during the Estrada administration.
He also served as vice governor of Misamis Oriental from 1984 to 1987.
A student of Xavier University since elementary, Rodriguez later went to La Salle, graduating summa cum laude in Economics.
He went to UP Law and passed the Bar 1982, placing 17th. At age 37, he was the youngest dean of San Sebastian College of Law.
He later returned to Xavier University where he finished his master’s degree in Economics.
He also went to the Columbia University for his Master of Law.
