DFA announces December holiday schedule of offices

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Monday announced the holiday schedule of its offices for the remainder of the year.

DFA spokesman Claro Cristobal said that aside from today, which is the observation of Bonifacio Day, the department will also be closed on the following days:

December 2, Tuesday, Araw ng Pasay, (Proclamation No. 1672)
December 25, Thursday, Christmas Day
December 26, Friday, Holiday (Proclamation No. 1463)
December 29, Monday, Holiday (Proclamation No. 1463)
December 30, Tuesday, Rizal Day
December 31, Wednesday, last day of the year and
January 1, 2009, Thursday, New Years Day

The DFA issued the announcement for the guidelines of the public, particularly passport applicants and other consular services

“Passport applicants whose new passports are due for release on Dec. 2, Tuesday may claim and receive such on that day,” said Claro.

“Passport applicants with confirmed appointments for passport processing on Dec. 6, Saturday, will be provided service as scheduled,” he said.
