Sagip Kapamilya extends aid to conflict-affected Mindanao families

Assaults in Mindanao believed to be caused by the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) have caused more than 30,000 families to flee their homes, with at least 140 houses burned to the ground.
Many evacuees are now cramped in more than 90 evacuation centers, while others are living with their relatives. 53 civilians have died from the fighting.
Sagip Kapamilya immediately conducted soup kitchen and relief operations in North Cotabato and Lanao del Norte. Through partnerships with the MERN (Mindanao Emergency Response Network), Save the Children, Philippine National Red Cross - Cotabato Chapter, and MTB (Mindanao Tulong Bakwet), Sagip Kapamilya has extended help to at least 1,980 families and 5,538 children.
