MANILA - Journalist Ariel N. Digma died Monday night of injuries from a car crash. He was 36.
Digma was driving home to Kawit, Cavite early Sunday when his car hit a concrete wall along the highway in Bacoor, Cavite.
He died shortly before midnight Monday.
Digma was a former reporter of Malaya and Manila Times, then worked as a media relations officer for former Senate President Marcelo Fernan, Sen. Panfilo Lacson and Sec. Angelito Banayo. He also was a media consultant for the Philippine Tourism Authority.
Last May, he joined Kyodo News, Japan's largest news agency.
Before Kyodo, he was a reporter for the Manila Bureau of TV Asahi, one of the biggest TV networks in Japan.
He is survived by his wife, Grace, and mother, Gloria.
His remains lie in state at Funeraria Alvarez in San Roque, Cavite City.
