Former US Navy serviceman Rolando Alberto Dizon died on Thursday morning, May 14, after suffering a heart attack. He was 65.
Dizon is survived by his wife, Dedicacion Chavez Dizon, and three children, Bernard, David, and Maila.
The eldest of six children, Dizon was born on January 30, 1944 in Muñoz, Nueva Ecija to Arturo Dizon, a policeman, and Maria Alberto, a homemaker.
He served in the United States Navy for six years from June 7, 1963 to September 3, 1968 and was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He was also an overseas Filipino worker in the Middle East and Spain.
His son David, currently an editor of abs-cbnNEWS.com, the news website of ABS-CBN, described him as "a very loving dad who always made time for his family."
