The Alliance of La Sallian Campus Journalists and Advisers (ALCJA) will be having its 5th National La Sallian Schools Press Conference 2009 (LSPCON) with its theme entitled “Environmental Journalism: A Heart of Change” to be held on the 7th -1th of May 2009 at the De La Salle Araneta University.
Delegates from the different De La Salle Schools/Universities in the country: De La Salle University-Manila, De La Salle-College of St. Benilde, De La Salle University-Dasmarinas, University of St. La Salle- Bacolod, De La Salle Lipa, De La Salle University-Canlubang, La Salle University-Ozamis, La Salle- College-Antipolo, and De La Salle Araneta University will take part in the 3 day-event
De La Salle Araneta University (DLSAU), known for its strong foundation in the field of Environmental, Agricultural, Food, and Veterinary Sciences, is the venue of the conference. Sustainable development, which is the primary mission of the University, is in congruent with this year’s LSPCON theme.
LSPCON is an annual event that convenes all student journalists from the members of the De La Salle Philippines for seminar and workshops with invited speakers from the local and international media industry. The topics include news writing, feature writing, opinion writing, lay-outing, editing, photojournalism, online journalism, environmental journalism, film, and illustration for newspaper and magazine.
Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero will grace the Opening Ceremony on Thursday, May 7 at 8:00 AM. Honorable Dax Cua, Governor of Quirino, will be the Guest of Honor at the Awarding/Closing Ceremony on May 9.
