An unidentified NPA rebel was killed in the 20-minute gun battle. He was left by his comrades who had to retreat after being overpowered by the government troops.
A bullet grazed the forehead of Private First Class Jennifer Carbahosa. The soldier is now out of harm's way.
Government troops also overran the camp of the NPA rebels who belong to the Central Negros Front, Komiteng Rehiyonal-Negros.
