Senator prepares perjury rap vs Cunanan
MANILA - Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. plans to file a perjury case against Technology Resource Center (TRC) Director General on-leave Dennis Cunanan Dennis Cunanan in connection with the latter's testimony before the Blue Ribbon committee last Thursday.
Speaking to reporters, Revilla described Cunanan's testimony as "lies," saying that it conflicted with the story of Benhur Luy.
He reiterated that he does not know Cunanan, denying anew the allegation that he spoke to him on the phone to supposedly confirm his endorsement of NGOs linked to Janet Napoles.
"I don't know him personally. Mas magaling pa sa artista e," Revilla said. "Singungaling siya."
He said Cunanan's decision to testify against him was a sign of the Aquino administration's "desperation" to link him to the pork barrel scam.
Revilla, who plays the role of "Panday" in the movies, says he won't take attacks from the administration sitting down.
‘No solid witness’
Revilla said Cunanan is the "most guilty" in the scam, since he is an official in one of the implementing agencies being linked to the scam.
He also belittled reports that Justice Secretary Leila de Lima is giving Cunanan a chance to rectify his statement.
He said there is "no solid witness" that has yet to link him directly to the scam.
Pwede naman siya pumunta dito personal, with pictures, video, para sigurado," he said.
He also denied that members of his staff have spoken to the Napoles' camp.
"Wala sa akin nire-report ang opisina ko. Definitely, sinabi niya nakausap niya ako, hindi totoo. Even [chief political adviser Attorney Richard Cambe], sinasabi sa akin, 'Sir, never ko po nakakausap 'yan.' So he's lying. At napakagaling niyang magsinungaling," Revilla said.
