MANILA – With all the acting awards under his belt, Coco Martin admitted he also wants to become a director one day and share his knowledge behind the camera.
In an interview with “Buzz ng Bayan” on Sunday, Martin said he is just taking his time to study the ropes of directing before taking the plunge.
“Honestly gusto ko kaya ngayon habang nag-aartista ako, dahan-dahan kong ninaaral. Sabi ko siguro balang araw, kahit papano kapag pwede na ako mag-relax, nakaipon na ako ng tama, siguro iba naman,” he said.
This is also the reason he is always very involved with his roles, Martin said.
“Pakialamero ako eh. Kinakausap ko ['yung co-actor ko]. Kasi kailangan team tayo. Hindi 'yung bahala ka, bahala ako. Naniniwala ako sa ensemble. Hindi dapat na porke’t ikaw ang bida, dapat ikaw lang. Hindi nagwo-work ang project kapag ganun,” he said.
According to Martin, he is privileged that his co-actors in the series “Ikaw Lamang” are united in making the show a beautiful one.
“Ako kasi from the very start, gusto ko lahat kami magkakaibigan. Gusto ko 'yung mindset namin magtulungan. Kung meron mang naliligaw, kinakausap namin. Sa ‘Ikaw Lamang,’ napakaganda ng bonding namin. Nag-start pa lang kami, feeling namin ang tagal ng show namin dahil itact kami,” he said.
Set to air this Monday, Martin said he is hoping the fans of “Got to Believe” would also support their show.
“Nakaka-pressure kasi kakatapos lang ng ‘Got To Believe.’ Sana tangkilikin din kami ng mga manonood. Sana 'yung suporta na binigay nila sa ‘Got To Believe,’ sana ibigay din nila sa amin. Nagloo-look forward kami na sana mahaba ang takbuhin ng storya,” he said.
“Ikaw Lamang” also features Kim Chiu, Jake Cuenca and Julia Montes.
