MANILA, Philippines - San Sebastian racked up three more straight-set victories to stretch its win run to eight heading to the Final Four of the NCAA beach volleyball tournament in Puerto Galera recently.
The Lady Stags, composed of Czarina Berbano and Gretchel Soltones, beat the Mapua, 21-9, 21-10; Lyceum, 21-11, 21-16; and the San Beda, 21-7, 21-10, sides to extend their streak to eight.
But University of Perpetual Help stayed within striking distance with a 7-1 card with the back-to-back defending champion Lady Altas all geared up for a keenly awaited clash with the Lady Stags.
“We’ll still go all-out for the win since we need the momentum in the semis,” said Berbano and Soltones, who are out for revenge against Perpetual’s Vhima Condada and Jamela Suyat.
Arellano University, toting a 6-2 slate, and San Beda are vying for the last two semifinal berths.
