MANILA -- Actor John Lloyd Cruz denied involvement in the case of comedian-host Vhong Navarro, model Deniece Cornejo, and businessman Cedric Lee.
In a Yahoo! report, Cruz was quoted saying he was shocked when he learned that his name is being dragged into the issue after he admitted earlier that he used to see Lee when he was still in a relationship with Shaina Magdayao.
Vina Morales, Shaina's sister, is a former partner of Lee.
"Oo (I was surprised), kasi sensitibong kaso iyan para sa kaibigan ko," he said during a press conference for ABS-CBN sitcom "Home Sweetie Home."
Cruz declined to talk and comment on the case, saying he is not, in any way, connected to the incident.
"I think it’s best na huwag na lang ako magbigay ng kahit na ano. Wala na akong dapat sabihin tungkol diyan," he said. "Ayaw ko nang pahabain kasi it's a very sensitive issue. Ayaw ko nang magbigay ng kahit ano pang comment."
Meanwhile, Cruz expressed his support for Navarro, a "Kanto Boys" co-member during their ASAP days.
Cruz said he is in constant communication with Navarro who has already filed a case against Lee's group.
"Hindi naman ako nagkulang sa pagsabi sa kanya na andito kaming mga kaibigan niya. Regular kaming nakakapag-usap. Kanina magka-text kami. Masayang-masaya ako na nakauwi na siya," he said.
