BAGUIO CITY -- Police have tightened security at the conjugal room of the Baguio City Jail, after a woman was able to bring two sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) hidden inside a condom, to an inmate on Friday.
According to police, "Jocy" was scheduled for a conjugal visit with her husband Josmar Galano around 2 p.m. Friday. Police, however, noticed that Galano was acting suspiciously after the visit.
"Nung lumabas na si Josmar, napansin ng nagbabantay na parang suspicious iyung acts niya. Tapos kinapkapan siya, at nakita yung nakaipit sa brief niya, nakabalot sa condom tapos nung tinignan, shabu pala," said jail warden Chief Insp Wilson Banasen.
Confiscated from Galano were 10 grams of suspected shabu. He was jailed for a similar offense in 2012, police said.
"Talamak talagang gawain niya yan. Kabilang siya sa watchlist, kaya binabantayan namin, kasi bakit tuloy-tuloy pa rin ang transaksyon," Sr. Supt Jesus Cambay Jr., city director of the Baguio City Police Office, said.
Jocy, meanwhile, denied bringing the illegal drugs to her husband.
"Wala po akong alam diyan... Pinagbintangan lang ako. Wala po akong ginagawa," said Jocy, who is now under the custody of the BCPO. She will be charged for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
A new case will be filed against husband, police said.
The police said they are still investigating the source of the illegal drugs which Jocy was able to deliver to her husband. -- Reports from Ada Sibayan, ABS-CBN News North Luzon
