MANILA -- A Liberian man was arrested after he claimed from the mail a package containing counterfeit money, police said Monday.
The suspect, Arthur Shakee Anderson, 26, was arrested after authorities discovered that his documents did not match the contents of the package he claimed from the central mail express near Domestic Road, Pasay City.
Upon investigation, officials found more than 200 pieces of fake $100 bills, according to Marlon Alameda of the Airport Customs Police.
Alameda believes that Anderson wanted to sell the fake money in provinces.
Anderson has been charged with counterfeiting at the Pasay City Prosecutor's Office. -- report from Henry Atuelan, dzMM
