MANILA (2nd UPDATE) - A magnitude 4.2 earthquake jolted Luzon island, including Metro Manila, on Wednesday night.
The tremor, which struck at 10:46 p.m., was felt at Intensity 3 in Caloocan City, Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) director Renato Solidum said.
The quake struck 82 degrees east of Binalonan in Pangasinan at a depth of 70 kilometers.
It was also felt at Intensity III in Baguio City, Dagupan City, and Mandaluyong, and Intensity 2 in Quezon City, Pasig City, Gapan, and Pantabangan in Nueva Ecija.
No damage or injuries have been reported so far.
Solidum told dzMM that the quake's origin was tectonic.
He said the Phivolcs does not expect any strong aftershock to follow the main quake.
"Ang tantiya namin dito, ang paglindol ay dulot ng pagkilos ng Manila Trench. Malalim po iyung lindol," he added.
"Siyempre, bilang paalala, ang kailangan lang ay reminder na dapat naghahanda tayo," he added.
