MANILA – Miss Venezuela Alyz Henrich was crowned the title winner of Miss Earth 2013 during the finals night of the competition held at Versailles Alabang in Las Piñas on Saturday.
Henrich was asked during the Question & Answer round about how she thinks eco-tourism can contribute to the protection of the environment.
The 22-year-old beauty answered: "We are responsible for the destruction of our nature. We need to be aware and take care of Mother Earth."
Austria's Katia Wagner was named Miss Air, Thailand's Punika Kulsoontornrut took home the Miss Water title, while Korea's Catharina Choi placed as Miss Fire.
Angelee Delos Reyes, the Filipino candidate to the international pageant, finished in the Top 8, alongside the delegates of Austria, Mexico, Korea, Thailand, Venezuela, Serbia and Poland.
