MANILA – The Black Eyed Peas member and “The Voice of the Philippines” coach apl.de.ap visited the survivors of super typhoon “Yolanda” (international name Haiyan) in Tacloban on Tuesday.
Apl promised to help residents rebuild their lives following the onslaught of the typhoon, and has committed to putting up a school in Tacloban, according to DZMM reporter Dennis Datu.
The rapper, who is set to celebrate his birthday on November 28, will hold a benefit show for “Yolanda” victims at Hyve, Bonifacio Global City on Wednesday.
Billed as “Apl.de.ap Going Out to Give Party,” the show will feature “It’s Showtime” host Billy Crawford, Mica Javier, Jay-R, Marcus and Amber Davis, DJ Joker, DJ Buddha and DJ Cherry Summer.
“The Voice of the Philippines” contestants Janice Javier, Jessica Reynoso, Tristhan Perfecto, Lance Fabros, Penelope Matanguihan, Guji Lorenzana, Moira dela Torre, Cora dela Cruz, Emmanuelle Vera and Cara Manglapus will also be part of the benefit concert.
Apl is also part of “Songs for the Philippines,” an all-star album that aims to raise funds for “Yolanda” victims through the Philippine Red Cross.
