TACLOBAN – As Manny Pacquiao's hands were raised in victory in Macau, victims of super typhoon Yolanda felt they too have won.
Here in Tacloban, thousands watched the fight knowing it was a fight especially dedicated for them.
In an interview after winning, Pacquiao said he was sure “they’re so happy right now.”
He told them: “For those affected by the typhoon, I will see you there.”
“We have a job to do in the ring but after the fight, we're all brothers and sisters.”
Some asked that part of Pacquiao’s winnings be given to the typhoon-shattered areas.
