MANILA – “The Voice of the Philippines” first grand winner Mitoy Yonting personally told host-comedian Vic Sotto when he learned that he will soon be joining the ABS-CBN noontime show “It’s Showtime.”
Prior to joining the ABS-CBN reality show “The Voice of the Philippines,” Yonting was part of “Eat Bulaga,” which is hosted by Sotto and Joey de Leon.
“Personally, kinausap ko si Vic Sotto. Nilapitan ko si Bossing. Nagpaalam ako. Siyempre, respeto naman ‘yun. Ang laki ng naitulong nila sa akin nung nagsisimula ako,” Yonting was quoted as saying in a story published on philstar.com on Monday.
Yonting added that he got Sotto’s full support even if it meant he will be appearing on a rival show.
Aside from Sotto, Yonting said he is also grateful to de Leon for defending him against bashers who said he does not deserve to win “The Voice.”
Aside from “It’s Showtime,” Yonting is also set to join an ABS-CBN sitcom, while he works on his album with MCA Music as part of his prize from winning on “The Voice of the Philippines.”
