MANILA – In an effort to celebrate Filipinos’ love for books, a reader conference will be held at the Ateneo de Manila University this week.
Now on its third year, the Filipino Reader Conference will be held on November 9 at the Rizal Library of the Ateneo de Manila University.
This year’s event will include six panels: “Don’t Hate Me Because I’m Popular” with authors Eros Atalia and Angel Bautista; “The Digital Filipino Reader” with bloggers Ronald Lim, Chris Mariano and Gilbert Tan; “What Booksellers Know” with representatives from Fully Booked, Bookay-Ukay and Summit Media; “Kids and Their Stories” with children panelists; and two Authors as Readers panels with guests such as Gerry Alanguilan, Eliza Victoria, Ramon Bautista, Kate Evangelista and Lourd de Veyra.
Bautista is known to many as the author of the book “Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo,” which has been adapted into a movie starring Kim Chiu and Xian Lim.
Aside from the panel discussions, the third Filipino Reader Con will also hold the awarding ceremony of the second Filipino Readers’ Choice Awards.
