MANILA, Philippines – Thai boxer Teerachai Kratingdaenggym is looking forward to learning from Filipino boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao after being hired as a sparring partner.
The Bangkok Post on Sunday reported that the 21-year-old Teerachai was hired by Pacquiao to spar with him ahead of his welterweight showdown against Brandon Rios on November 24.
“I will get both money and experience,” Teerachai, who has won all 22 of his professional matches, told the Bangkok Post.
Teerachai’s manager, Niwat Laosuwanwat, also welcomed the opportunity to show off his fighter to the world.
“He will get the chance to show the world how good he is,” he said of the young boxer.
Pacquiao has been training in General Santos City for his 12-round encounter with Rios, which will be his first match in almost a year. The Filipino has lost two consecutive fights, having been beaten by American Timothy Bradley in June 2012 before getting knocked out by Juan Manuel Marquez last December.
