MANILA -- A man from Brgy. Palugsi-Limmansangan, in Bauang, La Union who was declared dead suddenly came back to life Friday, his family said.
Ambrosio Rivera's son said his father stopped breathing and his body changed color.
News of the old man's death immediately spread to his neighbors.
Some of his neighbors even started arriving to pay their last respects.
However, after about 30 minutes, Lolo Ambrosio suddenly moved and opened his eyes.
"Sabi nga namin, Tatay baka may anting-anting ka, bakit bigla kang nabuhay," said his grandchild, Lilia Rivera.
Rivera has been reportedly battling heart and kidney problems, as well as prostate cancer, for 5 years.
A few days after his "death," Rivera can now move and speak normally.
Medical experts, however, said the man did not really die and just experienced a drop in his vital signs.
"Palagay ko hindi ito namatay, nahimatay lang," said Dr. Aurora Valdez.
