PAGASA's projected track of Tropical Depression Vinta
MANILA -- Tropical Depression Vinta maintained its strength Tuesday and continued to move towards Isabela and Aurora in Luzon, state weather forecasters said.
In a 5 p.m. advisory released by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the center of Vinta was estimated at 820 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes.
Public Storm Signal No. 1 has been raised over the provinces of Isabela and Aurora, where the storm could make landfall.
It is packing maximum winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center.
Vinta is expected to move west at 26 kph.
It is expected to be 320 km north of Virac, Catanduanes, or 420 km east of Casiguran, Aurora by Wednesday afternoon.
By Thursday afternoon, it is expected to be 40 km south of Sinait, Ilocos Sur.
Vinta is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Friday morning.
