MANILA -- A one-eyed goat was discovered at a farm in Barangay Patalon in Zamboanga City.
According to the caretaker, Timar Tiblani, the one-eyed goat lacked a nose, which made it hard for the animal to breathe.
The kid was born last Sunday and died after around 37 hours.
The caretaker also said that the goat's mother had a hard time feeding the kid, which may have caused its death.
Dr. Arnedo Agbayani, the city veterinarian, explained that cases such as this are rare, and that most one-eyed animals don't live long.
The goat's owner, Hussin J. Abdurasan, said that they prefer to bury the dead goat instead of giving it to the government for preservation, following the Muslim tradition of burying dead animals as soon as possible.
