MANILA – The Department of Energy said power is back in 77 % of barangays in quake-affected areas in Bohol as of Monday.
Energy Undersecretary Raul Aguilos told ANC that some homeowners have chosen not to have power, returned to their homes because they want to first make sure that their houses are safe.
Meanwhile, Aguilos said closed gas stations in Bohol have promised to resume normal operations within 2 to 3 days.
Aguilos said only 6 fuel stations are currently not operational: 3 in Loon town, 2 in Buenavista and 1 in Maribojoc.
He said some stations remain closed because owners fear the integrity of their structures has been compromised.
He assured that the opening of the gas stations will bring down fuel prices in bohol, even as he confirmed that oil prices in the province have skyrocketed.
Earlier reports said gas prices in Bohol have gone up to at least P100 per liter.
"We have touched base and talked with the owners of the gas stations like Petron and Shell to send their technical people immediately to evaluate the infrastructure of the gas stations to normalize operations as soon as possible," he said. - ANC
