MANILA - Malacanang dismissed whistleblower Jun Lozada's call for President Benigno Aquino III to resign.
Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda observed that Lozada is engaging in "DOM" -- deny, obscure and misdirect -- when it comes to several issues.
Lacierda pointed out that Aquino is the one implementing reforms so it is just wrong that he will be the one ousted.
During the Million People March in Makati on Friday, Lozada urged Aquino to resign.
The Aquino administration has been fighting off criticisms over its use of lump sums following revelations of abuse in the Priority Development Assistance Fund and Disbursement Acceleration Program.
Lozada earlier said the President was getting back at him because he refused Aquino's offer to fetch him at the airport in February 2008 while the Senate was investigating the NBN-ZTE deal.
The whistle-blower said he met Aquino last February where the President reminded him of the rejected offer and told Lozada that he was on his own.
Social Welfare Secretary Dinky Soliman, however, said it was Lozada who urged Aquino to intervene in the cases filed against him before the Office of the Ombudsman.
