MANILA -- Typhoon "Quedan" is expected to leave the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) Saturday afternoon, the state weather bureau said.
In its 11 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA said Quedan was last spotted 620 kilometers northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, and was moving west-northwest at 15 kilometers per hour (kph).
It has maintained its strength as it continued to move further away from the country, it added.
Quedan was packing maximum sustained winds of 130 kph near the center and gusts of up to 160 kph.
The typhoon is still not expected to affect any part of the country.
However, sea travel is risky over the northern and eastern seaboards of northern Luzon, PAGASA said.
No storm warning signals have been raised.
