MANILA - Seven activists pushing for the total abolition of the pork barrel system were escorted out of the lower House Friday for disrupting proceedings.
The seven people, led by Youth Act spokesman Einstein Recedes, disrupted the plenary session, House officials said.
House security immediately escorted them out of the premises.
Their move came in the middle of interpellations on the budget of the office of the President.
Earlier in the day, around 400 protesters trooped to the Batasang Pambansa on Friday to protest the impending passage of the General Appropriation Act of 2014.
The protesters came from militant groups Bayan, Kilusang Mayo Uno, Anak Pawis and others. - reports from RG Cruz and Gus Abelgas, ABS-CBN News
