MANILA -- The crisis management committee (CMC) in Zamboanga City on Wednesday said only around 10 hostages remain in the hands of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) faction of Nur Misuari in Barangay Sta. Catalina.
The committee said the number is based on the accounts of the hostages who have been either released by the rebels or rescued by government security forces.
As of Wednesday, a total of 178 hostages have been freed or rescued.
Just yesterday, an elderly couple managed to escape from their captors and were rescued by the military.
