MANILA – Some of the country’s biggest stars will participate in ABS-CBN’s advocacy run for the Pasig River this October.
Kapamilya talents Kim Chiu, Anne Curtis and Karylle as well as “TV Patrol” weather anchor Kim Atienza will lead thousands of runners in the fifth “Run for the Pasig River” event at the Quezon Memorial Circle on October 6. Also joining them is Curtis’ boyfriend, model-blogger Erwan Heussaff.
The “Run for the Pasig River” will also be held in Cebu, Davao and Bacolod. Hunk actors Paulo Avelino and Jason Abalos will represent the Cebu leg, which is for the coastal reservation of Daan Paz; while Maja Salvador, Aaron Villaflor and Bryan Termulo will be part of the Davao leg for the benefit of eco-tourism projects in Marilog Tourist Center.
Joem Bascon, Paul Jake Castillo and Bangs Garcia will participate in the Bacolod leg, which will raise funds for the mangrove and livelihood projects in Punta Taytay, Sum-ag river rehabilitation, and eco-tourism projects in the Bacolod City Water District Campuestuhan Watershed.
Filipinos abroad can also take part in the advocacy run, with the event also set to be held in the United States. Actor Jake Cuenca and The Filipino Channel’s Michi Valeriano, Lee Robin Salazar and Gelo will lead the Los Angeles leg, which will benefit the Green Initiative of Bantay Kalikasan.
To sign up for the Quezon City leg of “Run for the Pasig River,” visit the booths located at SM Mall of Asia, SM North EDSA, SM North EDSA-Annex, SM Megamall, SM Manila, SM Fairview, Chris Sports Glorietta, Chris Sports Festival Mall and Fitness & Athletics BGC.
ABS-CBN Cebu, Bacolod and Davao offices, meanwhile, will be ready to accept participants from their respective provinces.
