MANILA, Philippines -- House Speaker Feliciano "Sonny" Belmonte Jr. and Rep. Bernadette Herrera-Dy of Bagong Henerasyon (BH) party-list commended the Philippine Memory Team for bagging 10 gold medals in the recent Thailand International Open Memory Championship.
Belmonte and Herrera-Dy both believe that Filipinos can excel in tournaments like these.
Herrera-Dy presented the members of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office-Mandaluyong-BH Philippine Memory Team to the members of the House of Representatives.
She also filed House Resolution No. 2606, commending the team.
"We are honored to present the member of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office-Mandaluyong-Bagong Henerasyon Philippine Memory Team who won the 10 (ten) gold medals in the Mind Festival and 5th Thailand International Open Memory Championships at the Kasetsart University in Bangkok, Thailand last July 7 at the Kasetsart University in Bangkok, Thailand last July 7," said Herrera-Dy in her resolution.
The congresswoman is one of the entities who supported the team’s campaign abroad.
The Philippine Memory team are composed of first Filipino Grandmaster of Memory Mark Anthony Castaneda, Roberto Racasa, Ian Roi Spencer Betiong, Cristine "Eon" Barao, Anne Bernadette Bonita, Mary Sharmaine Deldio-Dianquinay, Ydda Graceille Mae Habab, Blessie Mae Ayalde, Princess Grace Mendoza, Jamyla Lambunao, team manager Aurelio "Reli" De Leon, team media head Almario Bernardino Jr. and Edwin Lllamo.
The team was also supported by Mandaluyong City mayor Benhur Abalos Jr., Mandaluyong City Rep. and House Majority Floor Leader Neptali "Boyet" Gonzales II, Belmonte, Bayan Muna Rep. Neri Javier Colmenares, PCSO, St. Francis Square, Bicycle rider playing cards, ACCEL, Dra.
