DUBAI – A Filipino bar in Dubai contributed a day’s earnings to the victims of the two recent weather disturbances that pounded Metro Manila and several provinces in Luzon.

The Ramee Group of Companies’ donations reached about 30,000 dirhams or approximately P400,000 from the combined earnings of its Regent Hotel and Filipino bar, Rocky’s Café.

"The total amount of 29,594 dirhams generated based on the income of Rocky’s Café and Regent Hotel will be a big help in the relief operations in the Philippines,” said Filipino community leader Robet Ramos.

The Ramee Group management said the donation is a way of helping calamity victims, particularly the affected families of Filipino overseas workers in Dubai.

“The beneficiary of your donation will be the Sagip Kapamilya of ABS-CBN, in coordination with the Filipino community organizations that are very active in the relief operations," Ramos added. Report from Dindo Amparo, ABS-CBN Middle East News Bureau chief
