ROME, Italy - The “Patronato” or agencies helping migrants in Italy regarding immigration laws are busy informing overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) about “Direct Hiring 2010” or “Milleproroghe”.
The Patronato is regularly visited by many Filipinos who want to find out how they can avail of the opportunity.
Migrants hope that the Direct Hiring 2010 will soon be approved by the government. Some Italian politicians were reportedly convinced that it should be implemented.
Reports said there is no definite information yet on its process and the number of migrants who will benefit from it.
For now, the Italian government has reportedly set aside the issue to focus on its forthcoming elections in the regions.
However, those applicants who were not assessed and approved during the direct hire in 2007 and 2008 due to the limited quota of workers have better chances this year.
“Definitely, walang aplikasyon daw, according sa sinasabi na Millepreroroghe. Definitely, walang bagong aplikasyon.
The Patronato advised migrants to wait for the decision of the Italian government to review the Direct Hiring 2010.
