SOUTH COTABATO- Unidentified thieves ransacked the Lake Sebu Countryside Development Multi-purpose Cooperative in Barangay Poblacion, Lake Sebu and stole around P2.9 million of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) cash grants and the cooperative's money.

Police investigation revealed that the robbers inclined the CCTV camera and destroyed the door at the back of the office.

The CCTV footage files were also deleted.

Suspects took the mini-vault outside and opened it at the compound of the daycare center of the barangay near the office.

Lake Sebu Police Chief Inspector Ramon Gencianos Jr., who believes that the crime was an inside job, said they have already taken finger prints from the entrance door.

“With the help of our Anti-Cyber Crime Group, makukuha natin ang CCTV footage. Kasi kung na-format yung hard disk o yung hard drive, malamang mahirapan tayo. Pero kung deleted lang, may chances pa tayo,” Gencianos added.

Cooperative Manager Rosie Makilan said five of their employees are willing to cooperate in the investigation.

She added that they were complacent in putting the P1.1 million of the cooperative’s cash and the P1.8 million fund intended for the 1,434 4Ps beneficiaries in the mini-vault.

Makilan said a cooperative member has decided to offer a reward to anyone who can identify the thieves.

The suspects also robbed the barangay hall of Poblacion and stole more than P3,000 and a souvenir shop beside the cooperative’s office and took a T’boli ornament valued at P15,000 plus P15,000 in cash.
