The November 18 burial of late dictator Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng Mga Bayani ignited a firestorm of protests in the streets and in social media.
In the past weeks, reports of Filipino Facebook users getting locked out of their accounts have surfaced, alarming some that it may be the work of a secret group of hackers.
A group known as “The Duterte Cyber Warriors” was pegged as the alleged hackers who were targeting anti-Marcos netizens.
Manila Bulletin Tech editor Art Samaniego Jr. talked with the group's leader who goes by the pseudonym "Salim Mcdoom" and said the alleged “cyber tokhang” was only a social experiment to trick mainstream media, which the group believes to be bias, into publishing fake news and that no hacking really happened.
Sarmaniego joins ANC’s “Future Perfect” to explain the circumstances surrounding the alleged cyber tokhang.
