ILOCOS NORTE- A businessman will be sued for illegal possession of firearms after authorities conducted a search in his house in Barangay 3, Vintar, Ilocos Norte on Friday.

Four different firearms, including an unlicensed caliber .38 revolver and several types of ammunition, were found in Stephen Streegan‘s house.

Streegan, who was not around when the search was conducted, will face a criminal complaint for violating Republic Act 10591 or the firearms law.

According to his family, Streegan went to La Union on Thursday and was expected to come back in a few days.

The search warrant was issued by a Regional Trial Court following reports that Streegan was keeping unlicensed firearms inside his house.

“Madalas raw na nagwawala at nagpapautok ng baril sa harap ng kanyang bahay. Eh ang bahay, katabi pa kapilya," Police Superintendent Amador Quicho said.

(He often throws tantrums and fires a gun in front of his house which is beside a chapel.)

Streegan was an election candidate for councilor in Vintar, Ilocos Norte last May but lost the race.
