POLOMOLOK, SOUTH COTABATO- An official of a cooperative was shot dead by motorcycle-riding gunmen in Barangay Poblacion, Polomolok, South Cotabato on Thursday morning.

Dolefil Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Cooperative, Incorporated (DARBCI) Vice Chair Carlos Ramo, 65, was shot by gunmen along the corner of Banaba and Dahlia Streets in Barangay Poblacion, Polomolok, South Cotabato.

According to witnesses, the victim was seen parking his motorcycle in front of a store when a gunman shot him twice in the head.

His relatives rushed the victim to the hospital but he died an hour later.

Police said the suspects were wearing black jackets and had fair complexion and blonde hair.

The suspects were riding a black motorcycle and took Pioneer Avenue to escape.

Recovered from the crime scene were two fired bullets from a caliber .45 pistol.

Fe Ramo, wife of the victim, revealed that her husband received death threats but she opted not to give details.

“Marami man ang nakakaalam sa sitwasyon ng asawa ko na kontra sya [sa] mga gawaing hindi maganda. Hindi na ako mananawagan dahil alam ng mga tao kung sino yang mga nagmamalabis sa kanilang pwesto,” she said.

(Many people may know the situation of my husband, that he is against wrongdoings. I won't make a call because people know who are those abusing their positions.)

Police Senior Inspector Hernan Gabat said they are looking at two angles, possibly either work-related or personal motives.

Police will release the artist's sketch of the gunman, and they will retrieve the CCTV footage from a nearby establishment to help them identify the gunman.
