DAVAO CITY - President Rodrigo Duterte paid his last respects to a former judge who succumbed to cancer in Davao City early morning Saturday.
Duterte visited the wake of former judge Adoracion Avisado, who passed away on November 5 due to lung cancer.
She was 64.
Avisado was a trial lawyer for 15 years and served as judge of the Regional Trial Court Branch 9. She was also chairperson of the Transformative Justice Institute and commissioner of the Philippine Women Commission.
She was also an active women's and children's rights advocate during President Duterte's reign as mayor of Davao city.
Earlier, Duterte snubbed the MSME Summit at SMX Convention center with Kris Aquino due to "migraine", however he graced the launching of Pilipinong May Puso foundation, in honor of his late mother, Soledad "Soleng" Duterte.
