BAGUIO CITY - A night market along Harrison Road will be relocated to give way to vehicular traffic, Mayor Mauricio Domogan said Thursday.
Vendors were asked to transfer their makeshift stalls to the Melvin Jones Grandstand, Domogan said.
"We will return Harrison Road for the use of motorists even during night time," Baguio City mayor Mauricio Domogan said.
Vendors said they were willing be relocated as long as their sales would not take a hit.
"Wala po tayong magawa kundi sumunod...Sana po pag nalipat sa Melvin Jones, sana po ay hindi na kami matanggal," night market vendors' leader Akier Hadji Hakim said.
(We can't do anything but to follow. We just hope that they won't ask us to relocate again once we've settled near Melvin Jones.)
The Baguio night market was originally located near the Athletic Bowl before vendors were asked to move to Harrison Road.
