MANILA - Severe tropical storm "Quedan" has left the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), state weather bureau PAGASA said Saturday.
In its 4 p.m. advisory, PAGASA said Quedan was last spotted 995 kms northeast of Basco, Batanes, outside PAR.
It is forecast to move north northeast at 25 kph towards Japan and is packing maximum sustained winds of 105 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 130 kph.
Palawan, the Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and Caraga may experience light to moderate with occasional heavy rains due to the intertropical convergence zone.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country, meanwhile, may experience strong winds and occasional heavy rains due to localized thunderstorms.
